Spain is charming and always festive, it is elegant and balanced, you will never have an opportunity either to name it a huge commercial circus or to enjoy enormous decorations 2 months prior the Christmas day.

Spain is a Roman country so all its festivities are not about tourists’ attraction, luxurious villas and celebration solely they still hold important religious connotations. Christmas Eve is a huge family day in Spain with traditional meals and family gathering. Spaniards adore tasting fish and shelfish, then comes a roast lamb or tasty pig and desert.

After the dinner most people go to midnight mass, known in Spain as “La Misa de gallo”. Christmas Day itself considered to be one of the quietest, all shops and banks are closed. Only in Spain you can feel the ambience of real religious Christmas.

Things to do in Spain:

enjoy a bullfight

I am not an animals rights activist but I think I can’t stand such views, although they are extremely popular in Spain. Bullfighting is an inescapable part of Spain and it inevitable attracts a lot of tourists.

architecture of Antoní Gaudí

To my mind, there is no Spain without Gaudi, he was talented, he was amazing, he was a genius … His buildings are one of a kind and too daring to be true. Vivat, Barcelona!

visit the Prado

The Museo del Prado is one of the hottest Madrid attractions that gathers thousands of people every day and it offers the oldest collections of art in the world.

visit the Alhambra

The Alhambra Moorish fortress is famous for its mind-blowing historic value, lush gardens and magnificent walls. This national monument is one of the most mythical Spain attractions.

the Guggenheim in Bilbao

The hottest and most unusual postmodernist museum in the world attracted 1.4 million viewers in it first year alone. A lot has been said and written about it but it is much better to see it with your own eyes.

Where to stay:

Spain is a very friendly country and here you will definitely find villas to suit any needs and budget.
